Physiotherapy is a health care profession concerned with the treatment of injury or dysfunction as well as the promotion of mobility, functional ability, quality of life and movement potential through examination, evaluation, diagnosis and physical intervention carried out by Physiotherapists. As primary health care professionals, physiotherapists combine in-depth knowledge of how the body works with specialized hands-on clinical skills to assess, diagnose and treat symptoms of injury, dysfunction, or disability.

Physiotherapy commonly includes interventions such as manual therapy, exercise prescription, soft tissue release, therapeutic modalities, education and self-management techniques. In addition, Physiotherapists can work with individuals to prevent injury and loss of mobility or function before it occurs by developing exercise programs and movement strategies for healthier and more active lifestyles. A Physiotherapist’s goal is to restore, maintain and maximize your strength, function, movement and overall well-being.

Massage Therapy

Massage therapy treats the soft tissues of the body using manual techniques. Massage therapists provide therapeutic and athletic massage to promote healing and normalize tissue mechanics. A Registered Massage Therapist (RMT) provides massage therapy.

It follows a belief in the body’s ability to self-heal and self-regulate when free from any obstructions, restriction of motion, or bony malalignment.

The goal of Manual Osteopathic Therapy is to restore health and balance by assessing and treating the imbalances that reside within the structures and functions of the body. It looks at the body as a single, integrated unit and aims to restore body mechanics and encourage nervous, circulatory, and lymphatic flow.

Osteopathic treatment is unique to each person and can help with pain management and a variety of conditions by finding the root cause of an individual’s pain and dysfunction.

A proper performance care and injury prevention routine is an essential part of any athletes’ performance and longevity in sport.

The aim of High Performance Care is to identify, treat and prevent dysfunction, optimize current body capacity to improve performance, reduce the likelihood of injury, and increase longevity in sport.

Our High Performance Assessment is full-body assessment for athletes looking to optimize their performance. This assessment looks at joint and tissue mobility, functional movements, strength, & sport-specific movements to determine current body capacity and any areas of dysfunction. Findings from the assessment will help to create an individualized, specialized Physiotherapy program including mobility training, joint resilience training, tissue training, sport specific strength, and hands-on manual therapy treatment as needed. Having a thorough assessment complete also allows an athlete quicker access to treatment should an injury arise or for general in-season maintenance.
